Our architectural services were acquired by a long term client for their new regeneration scheme which comprised the demolition of an existing farmhouse, a new build four bedroomed property, conversion of a barn and a further three new build residential dwellings all on former agricultural land in Arnesby, Leicester.
Arnesby lies within the Local Authority, Harborough District Council's Conservation Area. Our design brief had to take into account the local character of the surrounding properties to the site. One design feature of the new farmhouse, was the impressive entrance hall with double height ceiling and a huge king post trussed roof. Planning and Building Regulations approvals were successfully gained for the scheme which was undertaken in four phases. The first phase of work for the new "farmhouse" dwelling took place in 2005. Completion of the full scheme took place in 2007.
