Located in the conservation area of Whitwell village on the north shore of Rutland Water, the spacious detached family house was designed by the home owner and architect, to replace an existing dwelling which was demolished prior to construction.
ADM was appointed to provide Project Coordination and act as Quantity Surveyor on this innovative new build, forming part of a team of consultants, contractors and suppliers drawn almost entirely from Leicestershire and Rutland.
The sustainable home is constructed from timber frame and has high levels of insulation, including a layer of recycled newspaper. It is highly sustainable with a host of renewable energy features including photovoltaic array and solar thermal panels, large windows designed for solar gain and rainwater harvesting system.
